You have a brilliant business idea? You’re asking yourself how you can realise and finance it? You have your own Startup but it’s not quite running smoothly yet? The Generator’s crew brings galactic ideas into a stable orbit and offers boundless energy for launches in the Stuttgart IT and creative industries.
With us you get both – and not just anything. We offer you:
Media and self-employment, a perfect couple. Of course the SMU is top of the region for number of ventures launched. Around ten percent of SMU graduates become self-employed upon graduation, while the average between all higher education institutions in Baden-Württemberg is at around four percent (source: graduates’ survey 2013).
We’re also playing at the top of the league nation-wide. The SMU is frequently among the top ten of all German universities and colleges for most EXIST Founders Grants received.
Dozens of SMU Alumni companies are operating in and around Stuttgart, but also nationally and internationally. For the purpose of networking these with our new Startups, the Generation Media Startup (GMS) takes place yearly.
The Generator is also touring worldwide, such as with the design thinking competition “Entrepreneurial Brains Made On Campus” (EBMC) and as partner in European projects in the field of entrepreneurship.
Hartmut knows the way. That’s why he’s our captain. He has maintained the Generator steadily on course since 0711, sidereal time. When the threat of asteroid impacts or thundering ion storms arise, he fires away with his legendary Rhetoric Laser. At intergalactic table football tournaments with our captain, though, you can forget all about diplomacy.
Magda is as old as the SMU’s Founders Universe. This is, however, unnoticeable after 9:30am. She has tightened the screws on countless entrepreneur ships of the Startup Fleet. When black holes originate in business models or project proposals, she pulls out her secret weapon: the polished word.
Johanna is the guardian of universal entrepreneurship knowledge. She comes from the planet of the Canvasianer, who have been offering the fitting planning tool for everything for millennia. She works tirelessly on new methods for beaming entrepreneurial know-how into the heads of students and colleagues.
Martin always has an ear for startups. As an Analogian, he finds so much fascinating. For example, this crazy so-called “Internet”, which will probably never prevail. He can smile, too. Especially if there are enough recruits for the Masters of Entrepreneurship.
Dorothee can perform magic. She transforms art into commerce and commerce into art. She altruistically takes care of gentle founders from the Creative Quadrant. She takes them in at our sandbox, whips some founders’ spirit into them and accelerates them to startup-hyper-light-speed.
Violetta soars through the Founders’ Galaxies faster than any comet. She looks for new lifeforms even in the most remote startup ecosystems. She then sets them upon our Playpark, which she herself built from the dust of the HdM pavilion in just three days.
Ülkü finds them all. Even in the last corner of the most remote galaxy, behind the seven Klingons, she can sense the tiniest of startups that ever studied anything to do with media. She is the Generator’s merciless alumni hunter. And yet so mercilessly nice.
Florian has something against old hats and hairy business ideas: a permanently loaded scalp phaser. At the same time, he is the most empathic member of the Generator crew, who gently but deliberately beams the freshman recruits onto the Entrepreneur Ship.
Hannah is traveling in her own space-time continuum. What feels like a complete startup weekend to us, lasts just a nanosecond for Hannah. She is currently researching a rapidly growing dwarf planet, which she created almost all by herself.
Lisa can see into the future and much further. Her stay on the planet Suomi gave her superpowers with which she finds the elusive creative startups of tomorrow. And that, without even looking. Just one blink and our accelerator is booked out for the next 20 light years.
Kristina always hits the target. When she fires her event phaser, it results in intergalactic Entrepreneurship Education Conferences and Startup Weekends of at least 3.7 Zentillion participants. Freshmen are beamed by her into innovation workshops immediately after enrollment.
Nisha will navigate all safely through the financial cosmos. Our Crowd Pilot accompanies smaller startup missions on their quest for crowdfunding and microcredits. But beware! Those who follow her through Euron storms will likely have to close their business accounts due to oversaturation.
Andreas has a solution for everything. Even for problems that do not exist yet. Since his service as a legionnaire on the Ryerson.CA of the Toronto Nebula, he has had visionary superpowers. He is constantly assembling innovative teaching modules and complex network formats on our spaceship.
Christian listens very carefully. As a cross median, he feels the slightest vibration in the subtext space. Therefore, he knows exactly what matters when he shares in images and words the adventures of the Starship Generator with the infinite vastness of the startup universe.
Mo has principles. As a knight of the planet Graphicos, he took the oath of the typographer. They make Sparta seem like a bed of roses. Therefore, we do not ask twice when he chooses to smite a design with his mighty shield. When shooting a movie, the crew also better do what Galaxo commands.
